It is a day to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

It is a holiday in many part of the world.

  • Gujarat and Maharashtra foundation day

On the 1st May 1960, Gujarat and Maharashtra were founded and established. Earlier to that the complete region was known as state of Bombay.
