Today in 1904 the steam locomotive City of Truro becomes the first steam engine in Europe to exceed 100 mph (160 km/h).

Today is the birthday of Gopal Krishna Gokhale. He wqs born in 1866. He is an Indian economist and politician during Indian Independence Movement. He was the leader of Indian National Congress and founder of servants of India society.
