The Qutub Minar or Qutab Minar or Qutb Minar, the tallest minaret in the world made up of bricks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Delhi, India.

This minar is a tapering 73-metre tall with a 14.3 metres base diameter and 2.7 metres at the top of the peak. It has five storeys in it and contains a spiral staircase of 379 steps.

It’s been said that on 4th December 1981, the staircase lighting failed and between 300 and 400 visitors stampeded towards the exit resluting in death of 47. Since then, the tower has been closed for public however one can enjoy the beautiful architecture from the outside.

Bollywood actor and director Dev Anand wanted to shoot the song “Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar” from his film Tere Ghar Ke Samne inside the Minar. But song was shot inside a replica due to the size of the cameras in that era.
